About the Project
The Pike’s Peak Children’s Museum (PPCM) is a hands-on, educational mobile museum in Colorado Springs that engages learners of all ages and creates a place for discovery, imagination and life-long learning through purposeful play. They also work to build trusted partnerships and be an inclusive community organization that offers educational resources and unique opportunities to inspire local children and families.
The organization needed a bold and energetic website that told the story of the Pike’s Peak Children’s Museum in an engaging way.
Strategy
We started by rethinking the sitemap to improve user experience and make the site easier to navigate. We also strategically placed call-to-actions to direct users to learn more or sign up to receive emails. By using a combination of photography, illustrations, large headlines and more intuitive text positioning, we were able to tell the story of the organization in a compelling way.
Target Audience
Our aim was to capture the attention of young audiences and their families, encourage repeat engagements and spark word-of-mouth referrals. On a secondary level, schools and other local organizations that might engage with the Pike’s Peak Children’s Museum for special events, interactive workshops, or themed exhibitions were also a priority.
Results
The new branding, style and visual elements of the website work together to create a cohesive brand experience that helps the Pike’s Peak Children’s Museum differentiate itself from competitors. Playful photography and illustrations combined with authentic testimonials help to build trust with users as well as reinforcing the organization’s mission of helping children engage with fun, educational experiences.
