3 Signs You Might Need to Consider Rebranding

Your brand is your “it” factor. Your super power. Your special sauce.

It’s your customers’ perception of who you are, why you’re here, what you do and how you do it… so if a brand feels outdated or overplayed, your customers aren’t going to want to engage.

Let’s go over some instances that might demand a refreshed brand image:

  1. You’ve Tweaked Your Business Model

Let’s go ahead and use ourselves as an example. The name of our business is encite branding + marketing + creative, so it goes without saying that our customers expect that we offer those services. If we decided to stop focusing on branding, or shifted to an entirely creative-based business model, our name would have to change to reflect that shift in product – or in this case, service – offerings.

  1. You Need to Differentiate Yourself

In some industry subsets, the branding can start to blend together pretty quickly. Internet lifestyle brands are a really great example of this. By “internet lifestyle brands” I mean just about any product you hear advertised on a podcast – Allbirds and Quip, to name a few big ones. All of their branding, packaging, and promotional materials have a stripped-down, minimalist feel. There are no flashy graphics, just a focused emphasis on simplicity. This isn’t an inherently bad thing, but when every ad from one of these companies looks like it was made to fit into a perfectly-curated Instagram archive, it gets a little tired.

  1. You’re Behind the Times

The world is changing at an alarmingly fast pace. The global economy is increasingly digital, and being able to keep up with constant technological advancements can be a full-time job in and of itself. The COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the need to adapt. Some companies made a name for themselves based on their friendly customer service and in-person touchpoints. So how do you get those same values across on a live chat? Rebranding to remain relevant in the digital age is a great way to show people that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

How encite Can Help Elevate Your Brand

A project like this is something you should leave to the experts. Cultivating the right voice, image and aesthetic is something that can make or break your brand – and something that we believe in doing carefully and collaboratively.
