Pickens Technical College Highlights Program Offerings with New Branded Marketing Materials from encite

For all of the advantages and opportunities that technical colleges and trade schools provide to students looking for a way to jump start their careers while paying less in tuition and fees, there’s certainly a disproportionate amount of stigma out there that seems to suggest that affordability equals low-quality education.

Pickens Technical College doesn’t agree with that, and neither do we.

The traditional college path is constantly held up as the one true path to success, a message that has been instilled in American students by parents, teachers, counselors and the media. Especially in more highly-educated areas, there is sometimes little to no literature available in high schools to students that might actually be ideal fits for a non-traditional post-secondary education.

But times are changing.

A December 2020 survey showed that more than 50% of college students agreed that higher education was no longer “worth the cost”. While that statistic was likely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and an increase in virtual learning, that way of thinking has stayed relevant in the following years.

We thought that the best way to show people the tangible benefits of a technical college education was to lay everything out on the table. That’s what we did with a series of 29 individual brochure templates we designed for Pickens’ programs, ranging from arts and technology to the skilled trades, to human services like cosmetology and esthetics.

The goal of the brochures was to frame Pickens as the pinnacle of career education in Colorado, by outlining employment statistics and salary predictions, utilizing testimonials from current and former PTC students, and featuring real imagery that highlighted the incredible work happening in each of the classrooms and lab spaces on the Aurora campus.

Pickens plans to use these brochures in both their digital and physical forms, as leave-behinds for employers and students alike at events like semi-annual open houses, career fairs, industry nights, and more.

We are proud of the work and feel privileged to have such a long-standing relationship with an organization that is doing their part to strengthen their community, in Aurora and beyond.
