The World of Marketing: Through the Eyes of Ali, Our Social Media Marketing Manager

Our social media marketing manager, Ali, shares insights from her first six months at encite. She talks social media strategies, helping with content creation, PPC and more.

Hi, fellow advertising professionals, industry nerds, and whoever else spends their time reading agency blog posts! I’m Ali, a 2023 Masters graduate from the University of Denver, and current Social Media Marketing Manager at encite branding + marketing + creative. After graduate school, I knew I wanted to find an agency in Denver where I could collaborate with a diverse group of creatives and clients. I found encite through their website and saw that they are proudly committed to innovation and creativity.

I grew up around marketing, and during my senior year of high school, I shadowed a branding agency where I fell in love with the process of marketing and realized that I really enjoyed the creative side of it. From there, I pursued a degree in art where I honed my creative and critical thinking skills.

Both of these have skillsets have served me in my role at encite, which has been primarily social media management. I have been involved in managing social media platforms, analyzing performance metrics, and crafting engaging ad campaigns.

My experience at encite has proven to me that learning is a lifelong endeavor. I have been equipped with invaluable insights into optimizing ad content, maximizing impact, and understanding trends. The realm of digital marketing is so broad, and I feel like I’m better prepared for the journey ahead, from growth internally at encite and beyond.

I’ve discovered a lot about myself and the industry, but three lessons stand out:

  1. Adaptability is key. Social media platforms are ever-changing and learning about new strategies is crucial.
  2. Social media contains a plethora of data, and measuring KPIs and interpreting that data can help you make more informed decisions on how to optimize future strategies.
  3. Keyword research is incredibly important. In Google Ads, selecting the relevant keywords and understanding your target audience is vital to a campaign’s success.

Finally…

I really do believe that this is one of the best jobs out there. There are big challenges, sure. A full load of tasks every day, project scales that seem to expand with every new social media platform, and the struggle to stay ahead of the content curve. But, for now, you can find us at @encitebmc on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.
