Biz Quiz Monday!

How do you add user generated content into your marketing?

Asking fans and customers help you with your marketing is a great idea! It gets them engaged with the brand while taking another task off your plate. A great way to add user generated content to your marketing is to ask fans and customers to upload photos featuring your product on your Social Media channels. You can give them an incentive by running a contest which encourages them a little bit more. This obviously needs to be monitored by your team, but it can be a great way to showcase your brand champions.

Another way to get this done is to add your fans/customers as guest bloggers. Getting new ideas and including some of your brand ambassadors in your marketing can increase your reach while giving you more credibility! Plus, your fans will have some great stories to tell!

What’s the best way to pitch journalists?

As a marketing and advertising agency, we pitch journalists quite often and we find more success by pitching through Twitter and Facebook. It is more time consuming, but through these channels we comment, share and re-tweet their posts to create a virtual relationship, if you will. We can’t stress enough that engaging with journalists MUST be genuine. Comment and re-tweet posts that are applicable to you or that you truly are interested. If you are engaging just for engagement sake, it is going to be apparent and you will be found out!

We have found journalists prefer Social Media much better as it shows initiative, specificity and connection that doesn’t come with a spam email. Most journalists we know complain about all the spam emails they get and never have time to respond or even read all of them.

How do you growing your business through Social Media?

We are using Facebook for a client of ours called Supper Solutions, which is a retail food preparation company. We have partnered with a local wine distributor and used kitchen accessory stores to paint Supper Solutions as the complete resource for everything a family needs for dinner. We partner the wine with each of the meals and suggest kitchen accessories and gadgets that people may need.

It is all about content marketing. We provide useful information that isn’t a sales pitch, but an informational dialogue that deepens our connections with customers. This connection heightens our credibility and leads to repeat purchase and loyalty.

In addition, most advertising agencies will agree that integrating your marketing channels is the best way to reach and connect with your audience. This is still true for Social Media. Using email, print and digital advertising to complement a Social Media program is key to getting the most out of your marketing dollars.
